Entre los servicios de video por internet y las sagas de superhéroes, la forma en que vemos y pensamos sobre las películas ha cambiado drásticamente en los últimos 25 años. Pero entre el horror de la Guerra contra el Terrorismo y lo inimaginable del Covid-19, ¿qué películas han resistido realmente el paso del tiempo?

Para averiguarlo, el equipo del NYTimes pidió a más de 500 personas que trabajan en la industria cinematográfica y en ámbitos relacionados que votaran por sus 10 películas favoritas estrenadas desde el 1 de enero de 2000. En colaboración con The Upshot, recopilaron sus respuestas para crear una lista de las 100 mejores películas del siglo XXI.

Entre las personas que votaron se encuentran gente con el Oscar por «Mejor dirección» como Pedro Almodóvar, Sofia Coppola, Barry Jenkins y Guillermo del Toro, así como intérpretes de gran calidad como Chiwetel Ejiofor, Mikey Madison, John Turturro y Julianne Moore.
